ARTIST STATEMENT
From Simplicity to Complexity

This artwork shows part of our universe beyond our planet Earth.

It tells of the beginning of time when life was non-existent, with simple chemical components, and that through time life evolved and changed, reborn into new forms. Unseen forces in the chaotic balance of the environment; a pool of simplicity has become a universal web of complexity.

Looking and traveling into a flutter of new discoveries is both fun and frightening. The environment, sensitive to all creatures, is always changing and evolving. Mankind looks for other habitable places including the moon and other earth-like planets. If our balance changes dramatically, like it has through time, this is possibly a necessity.

Why the Glitter?

Playful glitter flashes and changes like the micro quantum world. Light travels at high speeds and brings us back in time to different galaxies with different forming environments, far beyond our planet Earth.

Use of Materials

Glitter exaggerates and heightens the fun of change as well as the horror of change.  Most of the glitter and materials are made in China from oil/plastic. Plastic products will remain on our planet for a long time since they do not decompose. The absurd abundance of stuff from human activity on our planet is sad but certainly something to hopelessly laugh about. How are we to change?
